Flanders Audit Authority supports the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
FAA has developed an audit strategy (Flemish Government decision of 26/02/2021). As an independent audit body, FAA will conduct audits on the projects and the management and control system for the facility. In addition, an assessment is carried out together with the Inspectorate of Finance of the project fiches that will be submitted to the European Commission.
The Recovery and Resilience Facility is the centrepiece of NextGenerationEU with €672.5 billion in loans and grants available to support reforms and investments undertaken by EU countries. The aim is to mitigate the economic and social impact of the coronavirus pandemic and make European economies and societies more sustainable, resilient and better prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the green and digital transitions.
